Elk Grove police arrest two in Wednesday morning pot bust

Early Wednesday morning, Elk Grove Police converged on a home in the rural part of Elk Grove and arrested two men in an illegal growing operation.

The operation took place before 7 am in the 9200 block of Grantline Road. The operation forced the closure of Grantline Road between Bond Road and Pleasant Grove School Road to allow officers to conduct the search of the home.  The two men arrested were Ubidalla Zarie, 35, and Gary Gill, 31, both of Elk Grove.  Detectives recovered over 20 pounds of processed marijuana, 28 pounds of marijuana plant clippings used to convert to concentrated cannabis, a conversion lab as well as 2 firearms.
