Elk Grove resident Angela Spease announces candidacy for SMUD Board



In a press release sent out today, Elk Grove resident Angela Spease has announced she is running for a seat on the SMUD Board of Directors. Spease is a member of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and a Rotarian that is actively involved in many events in the community.  Spease will be running for the seat of Genevieve Shiroma who will not be running for re-election.



Local Businesswoman Angela Spease Announces Run for SMUD Board

Small businesswoman and local community leader Angela Spease announced today that she is running for SMUD Board of Directors. Spease is running for the seat currently occupied by Genevieve Shiroma, who decided not to seek reelection.

“I am humbled by the outpouring of support I have received since deciding to run,” stated Spease. “I have always felt one of my main purposes in life is serving the community and helping others. On the SMUD Board, I will be a strong advocate for hardworking families and ratepayers.”

Angela’s commitment to the community primarily centers around her work as a dedicated Rotarian. She also serves as the Treasurer for the Asian Resources Inc. Community Services Board and co-founder and Treasurer for The Arts Advocacy Project (TAAP) in Elk Grove.

In addition to her volunteer work in the community, Angela and her husband Kevin own and operate two local family businesses: Spease Bees Honey Company and ISSE Services, which offers cyber security engineering for a number of clients, including the Department of Defense.

Angela grew up in Elk Grove, where she lives with her husband, Kevin, a combat veteran. Their son, Jeremy currently lives in Utah and also works for ISSE Services. She will be holding her first campaign event on Wednesday, August 29th at Pins N Strikes in Elk Grove at 6:15pm.
