Suspect identified in South Sacramento homicide. Update, suspect has turned himself in

Updated at 3 pm. The Sacramento Sheriff Dept announced the suspect has turned himself in.

The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department has identified the suspect wanted in connection to a homicide on Tuesday morning in South Sacramento.

The suspect is 20-year-old Damion Horton of Sacramento. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Horton pertaining to this homicide investigation.

Horton is described as a black male adult, approximately 6’2” tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The homicide occurred around 9 am Tuesday in the 7800 block of Orchard Woods Circle. Deputies arrived on scene and set up a perimeter but were unable to find the suspect.

The department also posted this on their Twitter page today, “Investigators believe this suspect is being concealed by friends/family who are helping him evade capture. Detectives have arrested one family member so far for participating in this and we know there are more who are still aiding in his escape.”
