Body of missing father in Delta found on Sunday

The body of the father who went missing in the San Joaquin River after jumping in to save his son, was found on Sunday.

According to a press release from the Sacramento Sheriff Department, a fisherman notified authorities of a body in the San Joaquin River. Sheriff’s deputies and the Sacramento County Coroner recovered the body.

Earlier this evening the coroner confirmed that the body was that of 41 year old Moua Lo of Stockton.

On March 29, Lo went fishing with his 3 children on the San Joaquin River. His one year old son fell out of the boat and Lo jumped in to rescue him. The baby was wearing a life vest. Lo was not. His daughter was able to call 911 and direct rescuers to her location on the river. Rescuers found the baby who was taken by helicopter to the hospital where he remains hospitalized.

Authorities had searched the area for Lo’s body since March 29, utilizing boats with sonar and ground crews on ATV’s.
