Prodigy Children’s Shuttle Service is coming to Elk Grove this summer to provide safe and reliable shuttle service to children and teens. Prodigy will take the trouble out of children’s transportation by ensuring they are able to get to and from school on time, participate in after school activities, and take the stress away from parents who have to balance their schedules with their children’s schedules.
Prodigy children will be shuttled citywide between the hours of 6am and 9pm, Monday through Friday. With advanced scheduling, Prodigy will also provide exclusive shuttle service to Prodigy families for travel beyond city limits on weekends and after hours on weekdays (museums, parties, sporting events, family activities, drop off at the airport, etc.)
Unlike Uber and Lyft, Prodigy will employ its drivers. They will be familiar faces instead of random contract drivers. Prodigy will hire the most qualified drivers by administering a 15-point qualification process, which includes TrustLine fingerprinting processed through the DOJ and FBI. Prodigy’s drivers will be CPR and First Aid certified, as well as be required to complete Defensive and Distracted Drivers Safety Training through the National Safety Council.
Prodigy parents will receive phone alerts when their children are picked up and dropped off, as well as be able to track Prodigy shuttle vans in real time. Prodigy vans will also be equipped with safety cameras.
Prodigy will remove the stress from parents having to juggle their schedules with their children’s schedules. Prodigy will provide more opportunities for children to participate in extracurricular activities after school rather than being stuck at an after school program. Prodigy will provide greater access to all of the children and youth programs throughout the city. Most importantly, Prodigy will do it safely and responsibly.
