An Event Fit for the Whole Family…FitFest is this Saturday!
Join the City of Elk Grove and the Cosumnes Community Service District (CSD) at Fitfest, a special event celebrating everything fitness this Saturday, April 27, at Elk Grove Regional Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This event features two fantastic fitness competitions, the Elk Grove Gauntlet and the Kids Warrior Challenge Obstacle course. But the fun doesn’t stop with just spectating. Stroll through the Fitness Festival and visit the healthy vendors on site. Check out the free kids zone featuring a BMX Stunt Bike Show, climbing rock wall, euro jumpers, inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses, zorb balls, bungee run, gladiator joust, hippo chow down and jumbo soccer darts! Dispose of Prescription Drugs Safely at Take Back Event this Saturday
The Elk Grove Police Department and the City of Elk Grove’s Recycling and Waste Division will team up for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. A drop-off event is scheduled this Saturday, April 27 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Police Department (8400 Laguna Palms Way.
This one-day event provides an opportunity for residents to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs free of charge and anonymous with no questions asked. Just remove all pills, tablets and capsules from their packaging and consolidate them into one bag before disposal. Needles, auto injectors, or other sharps will not be accepted.
Bike & Bite is Next Wednesday
Did you know May is Bike Month? Grab your bicycle and ride on down to the monthly Food Truck Mania event at the Old Town Plaza and receive a $2 coupon to enjoy some tasty, discounted bites. The first 100 people to come on 2 wheels can pick up a coupon when they valet their bike with the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA). Then, grab some food and check out the May is Bike Month Energizer Station. Admission is absolutely free and open to all ages. Food Truck Mania is open from 5 to 9 p.m.
