Elk Grove police investigating three robberies over the weekend

The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating three robberies that took place between early Friday morning and late Saturday night. This comes on the heels of three other robberies last Thursday within roughly one hour. Two of the robberies that day were related. The third robbery involved different suspects.

The weekend robberies began early Friday morning. At around 1:15 pm, a female victim was getting out of her car in the 8800 block of Campton Glen Place, when she was approached by three suspects who had their face and head covered. They took the victim’s property and fled in a red car. The only description was one of the suspects wore a gray beanie and light colored shirt.

The second incident happened on Friday morning, just after 4 am in the 4300 block of Piraieus Ct. A male victim arrived home and was approached by two suspects, one of which was armed. The suspects demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects fled in a white four door sedan driven by a third suspect. The two suspects were described as African American males, 18-20 years old, wearing dark clothing.

The third incident happened 10:45 pm on Saturday night, in the 10400 block of Fossil Way. Two victims had contacted a seller about purchasing a phone through an online site. The victims arranged to meet the seller at a location near the victim’s home. The victims met with two suspects near a car. The victims decided not to buy the phone and started to walk away when they were assaulted by the first two suspects and five others. The two suspects were described as African American males. In a post on Facebook, a family member stated all the suspects were African Americans.
