S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was the driver and S-2 (Elk Grove resident) was the passenger of a motor vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact, officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Both suspects were detained. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a concealed loaded firearm, marijuana, and indicia related to marijuana sales. S-2 was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale, issued a citation and released. S-1 was arrested for the firearm related charges and then transported to the main jail.
