Big Truck Day Rolls in to the City on Wednesday

The City invites children ages 2-6 and their families to join in a celebration of National Public Works Week during the annual Big Truck Day event this Wednesday, May 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Laguna Reserve Marketplace at 10044 Bruceville Road. Kids can climb in and experience the big trucks and learn about the role of Public Works and other local agencies in maintaining the City. Be Part of the Hiring Process for Elk Grove’s Next Chief of Police

The City invites you to join us for a meeting on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers to explore and discuss the qualities and characteristics most wanted in Elk Grove’s next Chief of Police. This will be an important part of developing a candidate profile that will be used to recruit, screen, and select candidates during the hiring process. An online survey will be offered for those unable to attend the meeting or desiring an alternative means of participation later in the recruitment process.

New Aquatics Center Opening this Saturday

Elk Grove community members will have a chance to splash down in a new pool this Saturday during the grand opening weekend for the Elk Grove Aquatics Center. Celebrate with the Cosumnes CSD and City of Elk Grove during a day of rip-roaring fun in the sun.

A ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 10 am. After, games, activities and open swim is available from 11-5 p.m. All games, activities and swimming are free on opening day, but space is limited. After opening day, seasonal pool rates will be: Under 2: Free, Ages 2-4: $4 and Ages 5+: $7. For more information about aquatics center activities and programming, visit www.yourcsd.com

Neighborhood Summit

Elk Grove’s annual Neighborhood Summit is scheduled on Wednesday, May 29 from 6-8 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers (8400 Laguna Palms Way). This meeting is your opportunity to learn and share community issues, discuss solutions and resources, and influence the way things are managed and maintained by local government agencies. Speakers are scheduled to include representatives from the Police Department, Code Enforcement, Planning, Elk Grove Unified School District, and Cosumnes CSD (Parks & Fire). Spend just a couple hours of your time and walk away with information and resources to support and maintain a safe, beautiful, and connected neighborhood for yourself, your family and the community around you.
