Elk Grove police investigating two armed robberies early Monday morning

The Elk Grove police department is investigating two armed robberies that occurred early Monday morning that may be connected with the same suspects.

The first incident took place at 5:08 am in the 9200 block of Franklin Blvd. Two suspects approached the victim sitting in a car. One suspect pulled out and gun and the second one punched the victim and took their personal property. Both suspects were described as African American males, wearing dark colored clothing and fled in a white sedan.

The second incident happened a short time later at 5:40 am in the 9400 block of Harbour Point Drive. Four suspects approached the victim. One suspect displayed a gun and a second suspect punched the victim, and took the victim’s property. The four suspects then fled on foot in a northwest direction. The suspects were described as three African American males and one Asian male. Elk Grove police believe the same suspects committed both robberies.

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
