Opening Celebration for Kammerer Family Park
Elk Grove’s newest play space will officially open singing the praises of one of Elk Grove’s pioneer farming families, the Kammerers, during a grand opening celebration this Tuesday, July 23, at 6:00 p.m. Opening festivities will include a dedication ceremony, complimentary refreshments, games, and music by the School of Rock. Kammerer Family Park is the 98th park constructed in Elk Grove and one of 7 parks jointly owned and operated in Laguna Ridge by the City and Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD). Enjoy a Fairytale by the Lake. Strauss Festival Returns this Thursday
Beautiful music, traditional dance, and gorgeous costumes will take you on an enchanting journey of Princess and the Pea at the 32nd annual Strauss Festival, July 25-28. Gather your friends and family for this FREE nightly performance in Elk Grove Park accompanied by a live orchestra. Bring a picnic or purchase food and drinks from licensed vendors. Parking is $10. Reserved bleacher seating may be purchased online at straussfestival.com. Diversity Awareness Month
August is Diversity Awareness Month in Elk Grove. Join the City’s Diversity and Inclusion Commission, Elk Grove City Council, and local organizations in celebrating the many cultures in Elk Grove with activities and events throughout the month. Next week will include a free Kitemaking Workshop for kids on August 3 and an Interfaith Prayer event for peace, justice and unity on August 4.
