Social Media aids in arrest of speakers stolen from Elk Grove winery

A surveillance video shared on Facebook led to the arrest of a suspect that stole speakers from an Elk Grove winery early Thursday morning.

On Friday morning a representative from Adkins Family Winery contacted the Elk Grove Laguna Forums Facebook page asking if a video of the theft could be shared.

The video that was shared on Friday morning, showed the suspect walking onto the property carrying a trash bag. He used the bag to carry two speakers. An Elk Grove Police Department officer recognized the suspect from the video and an arrest was made on Saturday.

38 year old Jacob Steffens of Elk Grove was arrested for felony probation violation and misdemeanor theft of property. He was also arrested for an active warrant.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department Daily Watch Summary this was Steffens 4th arrest since May 29. Previous arrests were for drugs and active warrants.
