Improvement projects coming to the Camden area

The City of Elk Grove announced that there will construction taking place in the Camden area over the next several weeks to implement improvements to the drainage and roadways.

Elk Grove, CA – Elk Grove’s Public Works Department will initiate a series of drainage and roadway improvements in the Camden neighborhood beginning on Monday, August 26.

Drainage work will require the closure of access onto Springhurst Drive from September 4-13. Motorists are advised to use West Camden to access Elk Grove-Florin Road during the closure. Additionally, access to parts of North Camden will be limited to local traffic only from September 13- early October. Ashmore Way will serve as a detour in this area.

Several ADA curb ramps will be replaced in this neighborhood as well, with work scheduled through early October. This work will not necessitate a road closure but will temporarily limit pedestrian access in work areas. Signage will be posted.

Following the completion of the work mentioned above, several streets will also be resurfaced in October and November. The project map denotes which streets will receive this treatment. Additional curbside notifications will be circulated to residents in advance of work on their street.

Work in the Camden area is expected to be completed in November, barring weather or scheduling delays.
