Teens, it’s time to Party on the Palms!
The Elk Grove Youth Commission and CSD Teen Action Committee will host a teens-only event like no other this Saturday, September 7 at 6 p.m. on Laguna Palms Way. Students ages 13-18 can leave their parents behind and dance the night away to DJ music, splash around in the foam dance party, hang out in the teen scene social media lounge, geek out in the game truck, snack on food and drinks, and show their skills at foosball, corn hole, ping pong and carnival-style games. Community Workshop for Civic Center Playground and Fitness Amenities
The Public Works Department will host a community workshop to review the Civic Center’s nature area design development drawings on Monday, September 9 at the Aquatic Center’s Captains Quarters (9701 Big Horn Blvd.) at 6 pm. This meeting will offer the community a chance to provide input on the design of the playground and workout areas planned for the space, as well as ask questions about the project. Save a life, adopt a shelter animal.
Adopt a new furry friend next Saturday September 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Pets to Go East (9328 Elk Grove Blvd.). Elk Grove Animal Services will conduct this and other off-site adoption events in anticipation of the grand opening of the Elk Grove Animal Shelter this fall.
