The Sacramento Police Department announced today that an arrest was made in an incident that happened last month near the American River.
On August 18, Sacramento Police responded to two separate reports of an attempted sexual assault near Sutter’s Landing Regional Park. Detectives were able to connect the two cases together. In each case a man attempted to sexually assault a female. In both cases the women were able to flee from the suspect. A search of the area did not turn up a suspect.
Sacramento Police shared a video of a man they believed to be the suspect.
With the help of the community and sexual assault detectives, a suspect was identified and eventually arrested. 27-year-old Manuel Sicario. Sicario has been arrested on several charges including sexual battery, and assault with attempt to rape.
