Think Two Steps Ahead: September is Pedestrian Safety Month
Elk Grove Police Department is working with law enforcement agencies across the state to promote safe behaviors that allow drivers and those on foot to get where they need to go safely. In order to reduce the number of collisions involving pedestrians, Elk Grove Police Department will have additional officers on patrol throughout the month of September specifically focused on drivers and pedestrians who violate traffic laws that increase the risk of crashes specifically around schools in the City of Elk Grove. Learn More About Elk Grove’s Heritage – History Week is Coming!
Started as a stage stop along the historic Lincoln Highway in 1850, Elk Grove has become a vibrant city home to more than 174,000 people. The last full week in September is recognized as Elk Grove Area History Week. Join local organizations in celebrating Elk Grove’s storied past and pioneers at events at activities throughout the week that promote our proud heritage. Become a Smarter Renter (or Landlord) at a Rental Housing Seminar
The Code Enforcement Division will host a free seminar about the rights and responsibilities of renters and landlords on Tuesday, September 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. in City Council Chambers (8400 Laguna Palms Way). Representatives from Code Enforcement, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (Housing Choice Voucher), and Project Sentinel (fair housing) will share updates on landlord tenant laws, inspection procedures, and other details that rental property owners, managers, and tenants should know.
