Former Cosumnes Oaks High School teacher Monte Reed, sentenced to 9 years in prison

Former Cosumnes Oaks High School teacher, Monte Reed, was sentenced to 9 years in prison on September 20, 2019. Judge Trena Burger-Plavan gave Reed the maximum sentence.

Last month Reed was convicted by a jury of two counts of unlawful sex with a minor; three counts of oral copulation with a minor; two counts of penetration with a foreign object with a minor; and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a 14 and 15 year old.

The former Cosumnes Oaks High School teacher was arrested on September 27, 2017 after a nearly 6 month investigation by the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department into the allegations earlier that Spring.
