Elk Grove Police investigating attempted child abduction

The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating a possible child abduction Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place around 3:30 pm on Thursday afternoon, near the intersection of Seasons Drive and Laguna Park Drive.

According to police, the juvenile victim was walking and using a cell phone when the suspect grabbed the victim and picked the victim up. The victim began screaming and the suspect released the victim, grabbed the victim’s cell phone and then ran to an awaiting vehicle. The suspect and the vehicle then drove north on Laguna Park towards Laguna Blvd.

The suspect was described as an African American male 18-25 wearing a light-colored jacket and dark colored pants. The suspect vehicle was described as a light-colored four-door sedan.

Elk Grove police officers will increase patrols in the area today and are still investigating.
