At the Elk Grove City Council meeting on Wednesday, November 13, the council is expected to approve a public works plan to add a pedestrian signal crossing on Whitelock Parkway, between Big Horn Blvd and Bruceville Road.
Currently, there is a pedestrian-activated overhead signal. The upgrade will turn it into a full pedestrian crossing with stoplights for vehicles on Whitelock Parkway
Nearby residents have requested the upgrade for several years. There have several collisions at the crossing involving pedestrians and bicyclists, including one involving a student this school year.
No time table is given for the construction of the crossing.
