Week of December 2, 2019
Santa’s Coming… With Lights and Sirens!
Santa has teamed up with the Cosumnes Fire Department and Elk Grove Police Department to spread holiday cheer throughout the Elk Grove community over three nights this week. The Santa and Sirens Parade will make its way through the areas of Sheldon (December 3), central Elk Grove (December 4), and Laguna (December 5). Nightly parades start at 7 p.m. at the fire station in each area, weather permitting. Route details are available online at www.yourcsd.com.
Remembering Pearl Harbor
President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared December 7th, 1941 “a day that will live in infamy.” In less than two hours, over 2,400 U.S. service men and women lost their lives and another 1,200 were wounded in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Join Elk Grove Detachment 1238 of the Marine Corps League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and American Legion Post 233 in remembrance of those who gave their all with a flag raising and wreath laying ceremony in Veterans Grove this Saturday, December 7 at 7:55 a.m. Veterans Grove is located at the east end of District56 at 8230 Civic Center Drive.
This is a free event open to the public and all ages.
Light Up the Holidays at the Illumination Holiday Festival!
Experience the season with sparkle and shine at the inaugural IllumiNATION Holiday Festival, a new multicultural family celebration at District56 on Saturday, December 7 from 4-9 p.m. Bring your family and friends to the tree lighting, shop amongst the holiday peddlers, and get into the holiday spirit with the Running of the Elves and the Holiday Parade of Lights!
