Officers responded to a call for service regarding a possible impaired driver. Officers arrived on scene and contacted S-1 (Sacramento resident) who was standing next to her parked vehicle. S-1 got into the vehicle and backed into another parked vehicle. Officers detained S-1, who displayed objective signs of impairment. Officers also found three uninjured children in S-1’s vehicle. S-1 performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested. S-1 was transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation when S-1 threw a cell phone at V-1 several times, hitting V-1 and causing visible injuries. S-1 held V-1 down and choked V-1. S-1 also prevented V-1’s attempted to leave. A record check

revealed S-1 was on parole. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

discovery of a burglary tool. S-1 was arrested, issued a citation and released.

S-1 and S-2 (Sacramento residents) were observed shoplifting by store loss prevention. Officers arrived and detained S-1 and S-3 who were in a parked vehicle. S-2 ran from officers but was detained. A record check revealed S-1 had active warrants out for his arrest and S-2 was on probation. A search

of the vehicle led to the discovery of narcotic paraphernalia where S-3 was seated. A search of S-3’s property led to the discovery of methamphetamine. S-3 was arrested, issued a citation and released. S-1 and S-2 were arrested and then transported to the main jail.

V-1 was standing next to their parked vehicle when a blueish colored sedan pulled up and S-1 exited the passenger side of the suspect vehicle. S-1 then approached V-1 and tried to take V-1’s purse. V-1 tried to hold onto the purse, however, S-1 was able to pry the purse away from V-1. S-1 ran back to the awaiting suspect vehicle and the vehicle left. S-1 was described as an African American male, unknown age, 5’9”-5’10”, and wearing all dark clothing. There was no description of S-2.

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
