Two people were earlier this morning in a collision between a big and a passenger car. Both victims killed were in the same vehicle.
Officer Clyde Holland with the East Sacramento California Highway Patrol issued the following statement:
“At approximately 1019 hours East Sacramento CHP Units were dispatched to a call of a two-vehicle collision involving a truck tractor hauling a semi-trailer and a Honda Civic. It appears that the female driver of the Honda was traveling northbound on Eagles Nest Rd. and failed to stop at the intersection with SR-16 (Jackson Rd.) and traveled directly into the path of the truck tractor which was traveling eastbound on SR-16. The driver of the truck tractor was unable to avoid the Honda resulting in the front of the truck tractor colliding with the left side of the Honda. The driver of the truck was uninjured, but unfortunately, the female driver and male passenger of the Honda sustained fatal injuries during the events of the collision.”
