After serving on the Elk Grove City Council since 2008, Steve Detrick has announced he is endorsing local businessman Kevin Spease to succeed him on the Elk Grove City Council for District 3.
2020 will make the first time Elk Grove residents will be voting in “by district” elections. That means only residents within a specific district can vote in the election for that district’s city council member
Elk Grove, CA — Steven M. Detrick, Vice Mayor of the City of Elk Grove that is from Council District 3, announced today his endorsement of Kevin Spease to succeed him in the November 2020 election. Detrick released the following statement:
“It has been my greatest honor to serve on the Elk Grove City Council since 2008 and I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish. After three terms representing Council District 3, I will not be running for re-election in November of 2020.”
“I want our next councilmember to love Elk Grove as much as I do, be worthy of this critical job — and I can think of nobody better than Kevin Spease. I’ve seen Kevin in many different circumstances and one thing that I’ve noticed about Kevin is that he cares deeply about Elk Grove, and he cares deeply about our neighborhoods in District 3. Kevin is exactly the leader we need to make Elk Grove an even better place to live, work, play, and raise a family.”
“A husband, father, combat veteran, and businessman, Kevin has lived his life placing service before self, and I’m proud to endorse him to succeed me on the council.”
