Elk Grove police arrest two for Saturday morning robbery

Elk Grove police arrested two people for a robbery that took place on Saturday morning in the Laguna area.

According to police, the victim arranged to meet two people, 19 year old Zachary Sanders and 20 year old Elijah Payne in the 9500 block of Racquet Court.

Sanders got into the victim’s car and then Payne approached the victim’s car with a rag covering his face. Payne demanded the victim’s property and then Payne and Sanders began punching the victim. The victim was able to get out of the car and the two suspects fled.

Investigating officers were able to identify Sanders and Payne as the suspects. Both suspects were later located at Payne’s house. Officers also found the victim’s property. Sanders and Payne were arrested and taken to the Sacramento County Jail.
