Imagine Old Town’s Future
Join the City for a special workshop at the Elk Grove Library on Tuesday, January 28, at 6:00 p.m. to envision the future of Old Town Elk Grove. City staff wants to hear from residents as they prepare for an update to the Old Town Special Planning Area (SPA). Attend the workshop to discuss the current conditions in Old Town, explore land use, circulation, parking and placemaking opportunities, and provide other suggestions you have for the area. For more information about the Old Town SPA and to sign up for project notifications, visit www.elkgrovecity.org/oldtown.
Have questions before the meeting? Contact Christopher Jordan, Director of Strategic Planning and Innovation, at cjordan@elkgrovecity.org or (916) 478-2222.
City seeks input on setting path to help low income residents
Elk Grove receives almost $5 million in federal funds every five years to help serve low- and moderate-income residents. To administer these funds, City staff is guided by a 5-year planning document. The guide for the next 5 years, the 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan, is now under development.
Community participation is essential in developing the best plan possible. Development of the Consolidated Plan will serve as a community-wide dialog to identify housing and community development priorities. The final plan will serve as the foundation for future annual plans that guide the investment of limited funding for specialized programs and activities, as well as for dedicating resources to meet resident needs.
Share your input in person by attending one of two public workshops on next Tuesday, February 4 at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. at the City of Elk Grove Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way. You can also provide your input online by completing a brief survey at elkgroveicty.org/cdbg. To request a hard copy of the survey, translation services, or special assistance, call 916-478-2254 or email housing@elkgrovecity.org.
