Identity of man found deceased near Elk Grove greenbelt has been released

The Sacramento County Coroner has identified the man who was found deceased under some sleeping bags last week in Elk Grove as 42 year old Russell Varguez. No cause of death was listed.

Varguez’s body was found on Thursday, January 23, 2020, when Elk Grove police officers were conducting a welfare check in the greenbelt north of Bond Road near Camden Passage.
