Elk Grove police arrest two in early morning traffic stop

An Elk Grove police officer on patrol early Friday morning arrested two people in the Fallbrook residential area in Elk Grove on several felony charges.

The officer had observed a vehicle driving slowly through the area around 12:30 am. The vehicle stopped near a mailbox, but the driver quickly drove away after noticing the officer. The officer then made a traffic stop.

There were two occupants in the vehicle. The driver, 31 year old Elizabeth Nguyen, originally gave the officers a false name before they determined her true identity. A records check revealed she had an active warrant from Santa Clara County. A search of Nguyen turned up a debit card not in her name. Also arrested was 42 year old Dustin Le.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of burglary tools, a tool used to shatter windows, and mail not belonging to either suspect.
