Two arrested in Elk Grove catalytic converter theft

Earlier this morning Elk Grove police arrested two people related to the theft of a catalytic converter in Elk Grove.

Police conducted a vehicle stop on a car seen leaving the Franklin Blvd/Millstone area at around 2 am this morning. 24 year old Amanda Pellerin was the driver of the vehicle and 31 year old Boon Yang was a passenger. Yang was on probation and had an active warrant.

A probation search of the vehicle turned up pipe cutting tools and a stolen catalytic converter. Officers were able to locate the victim and discovered the theft took place earlier this morning. Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Sacramento County Jail.
