Help Recognize Deserving Local Volunteers
Online nominations are being accepted for the Mayor’s Volunteer Awards through this Friday, March 6. Any individual, group, business, agency or organization whose volunteer activities directly benefit the Elk Grove community is eligible. Nomination forms are available online at www.elkgrovecity.org.
Drive-Thru and Protect Your Pet at the Vaccination Clinic this Saturday
The next quarterly Drive Thru Vaccine clinic will be held this Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. next to 8220 Longleaf Drive. FREE rabies vaccines, DHPP vaccines for dogs, FVRCP vaccines for cats, and microchips are available for Elk Grove residents (must provide proof of your Elk Grove address) while supplies last. One year of free pet licensing is also available for spayed/neutered, or newly acquired pets. No appointment is necessary, but there is usually a wait so visitors are asked to plan accordingly. Be Kind to the Planet and Your Car, Exchange Your Oil Filter
The City of Elk Grove invites you to recycle your used motor oil filters. Bring a used motor oil filter to O’Reilly Auto Parts (8751 Elk Grove Blvd.) on Saturday, March 14 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and receive a new one of equal or lesser value. Tunes courtesy of 93.7 FM The River and free tacos will be available on site (while supplies last). This program is brought to you by the City of Elk Grove, funded in part by a grant from CalRecycle. Not for use by commercial automotive maintenance or repair facilities.
Tickets on Sale for Peace & Love Musical Revue
Join the Elk Grove Arts Commission for an evening of far out music and groovy tunes from an era when peace and love reigned supreme. Tickets for the March 20 Peace & Love Musical Revue of the 1960’s are on sale now through the city’s website at www.elkgrovecity.org. The cost is $10 for adults. Kids under 17 are free. This event will be held at Sun Grove Church, 2285 Longport Court. Theme attire is encouraged.
