S-1 (Sacramento resident) was the driver and S-2 (Sacramento resident) was the passenger in a motor vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation. Upon contact, officers observed open containers of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle and S-1 displayed objective signs of impairment. S-1 performed
poorly on field sobriety tests. A record check revealed S-2 had an active warrant out for his arrest and was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded firearm, cocaine and indicia related to narcotic sales. Both suspects were arrested and then transported to the main jail.
