Charges: PC 273.5 (A)
Location: CONFIDENTIAL
Victim: CONFIDENTIAL
Suspect: KENNEY, JOHN (WMA, 47, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were involved in a verbal argument that escalated when S-1 choked V-1 causing an injury. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail. V-1 was granted an emergency protective against S-1.

 

EVENING WATCH

Charges: PC 25850 (A), 32310, 25850 (C)(6)
Location: 6900 block of Plume Way
Suspect: AHMED, ALI (OMA, 21, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and two other people were contacted during a call for service. While officers were speaking with the group, S-1 was seen removing an item from his jacket, bending down and placing what appeared to be a firearm near a parked vehicle. All three people were detained and a loaded firearm with an extended magazine was recovered. A record check revealed the firearm was not registered to S-1 or to the others. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Location: 8900 block of Grant Line Rd.
Suspect: GOMEZ, JOHN (AMA, 28, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) was contacted during a call for service. A record check revealed S-1 had an active warrant out for his arrest. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
