Alert Elk Grove resident leads to arrest in mailbox break-in

An alert resident heard something suspicious and alerted police to a possible mailbox break-in around 11:20 am on Sunday morning.

The incident took place near Heathermist and Fallbright in the North Camden area. The resident called police with a description of the suspect vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle near Bond and Bradshaw. Two men in the vehicle were detained and arrested, 39-year-old Leonard Anderson and 30-year-old Tehki Bill. Anderson was on probation and Bill was on parole with an active warrant.

A search of the car turned up tools used to break into mailboxes, as well as mail and financial documents not belonging to the suspects. Both were arrested and taken to county jail
