A Sacramento Sheriff’s deputy is in critical condition after an officer involved shooting in Rancho Cordova Saturday night. The suspect was killed and a woman was believed to have been killed by the suspect in the house.
Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for service in 160 block of Dutchess Way around 7 pm. A woman called 911 and said her grandson, with whom she had a restraining order, brandished a gun. Arriving deputies saw the man outside the home and a foot pursuit ensued. According to the Sheriff’s Department, at some point gunfire was exchanged. A male deputy was shot at least twice. A 29 year old male suspect was killed in the shootout.
A woman was found dead inside the house. The sheriff’s department said they were not sure what the relationship was between the suspect and the woman. Sheriff’s Spokesperson Tess Deterding said they don’t believe the the woman is the one who called 911.
