Location: Big Horn Blvd. / Whitelock Pkwy
Suspect: LOVE, SHANEL (BFA, 49, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was the driver of a vehicle involved in a vehicle collision. S-1 fled the scene in her vehicle and observed by officers driving recklessly. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and upon contact, S-1 displayed objective signs of impairment. S-1 performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested.

Suspect: ENRIQUEZ, BRANDON (HMA, 20, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was in a verbal altercation with V-1 that escalated when S-1 pulled out a knife. During the altercation with S-1, V-1 to sustain a cut to his arm. Officers detained S-1, who was found walking in the area. A search of S-1 led to the discovery of a folding knife. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was arrested for violation of parole and then transported to the main jail.

Location: 9600 block of Emerald Oak Dr.
Suspect: UNKNOWN (WMA)
S-1 entered into V-1’s business. S-1 was armed with a knife and demanded money from the register. S-1 removed money from the register and exited the store. The suspect was described as Caucasian male, wearing dark-colored clothing and black shoes with a white face covering.

Location: 5700 block of Laguna Park Dr.
Suspect: GRIMES, RICHARD (BMA, 67, ARRESTED)
Officers responded to a call for service regarding a disturbance involving S-1 (Elk Grove resident). S-1 opened the door and brandished a shotgun. S-1 dropped the shotgun after several directives from the officers but refused to exit the residence. S-1’s dog exited the residence and aggressively advanced towards an officer. The officer discharged their service weapon, hitting the dog. S-1 was then detained. The dog was transported to a local veterinary clinic for treatment. Officers located a second dog on scene, locked in a vehicle with no food or water. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Crime Tips Via Text Messaging through “TipSoft”

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
