Officers were on scene of a call for service when S-2 (Sacramento resident) advised S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was using narcotics. Officers attempted to detain S-1 who became physically resistive, striking an officer in the chest. S-1 continued to physically resist causing an officer to sustain a visible injury. Officers were able to overcome S-1’s resistance and was detained. During the incident, S-2 began yelling at officers and was close to officers. S-2 refused to comply with officers’ directives to move back.
S-2 became physically resistive when officers attempted to detain her. A record check of S-1 revealed he was on probation. A probation search of S-1’s person led to the discovery of heroin. S-1 was arrested for possession of heroin and assault on an officer and then transported to the main jail. S-2 was arrested for delaying/ obstructing, issued a citation and released.
