Possible road rage incident leads to arrest and confiscation of 9 guns by Elk Grove Police

On Monday morning Elk Grove police officers responded to a call for someone brandishing a gun after a road rage incident near Laguna Blvd and Laguna Springs Drive. Officers stopped the suspect for a vehicle code violation. Officers determined the suspect, 31 year old Joseph Islas of Elk Grove, was not allowed to possess firearms. A search of Islas’ home turned up 9 firearms. Islas was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms, brandishing a firearm and being in possession of ammunition.
