At tonight’s meeting, the Elk Grove City Council will discuss whether or not to amend the Old Town Special Planning Area (SPA) to allow tattoo parlors. Currently, tattoo parlors and piercing establishments are prohibited. There is only one tattoo business legally operating in the city at this time.
In 2009 the city council rejected a proposed tattoo parlor by a vote of 3-2. Earlier this year the idea came up during public comment at a city council meeting. Allan Veto, the owner of Bob’s Bar, according to a comment on social media, is interested in opening a tattoo business above Bob’s Bar.
At the meeting tonight the city council will decide whether or not to have city staff began the process to amend the Old Town SPA. The item is 10.4 on the agenda. It will be the last item heard.
The city council meeting begins at 6 pm via Zoom. Residents can register to join via this link https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Ikm6-AkRRR2jqvyuIZYQsQ
