Location: CONFIDENTIAL
Victim: CONFIDENTIAL
Suspect: CHARAN, VIREND (AMA, 50, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) and V-1 were in a verbal argument that escalated when S-1 slapped V-1. S-1
was arrested and transported to the main jail. V-1 was granted an emergency protective order against
S-1.

Location: Elk Grove Blvd / Wymark Dr
Suspect: BEATTY, VAUGHN (BMA, 54, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) was the driver of a vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation. A probable
cause search of items thrown out the window by S-1 led to the discovery of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Upon contact, S-1 displayed objective signs of impairment. S-1 performed poorly on field sobriety test and he was arrested.

Suspect: JUVENILE (BFJ, 17, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) and V-1 were in a verbal argument that escalated when S-1 pulled V-1 by
the hair. S-1 was arrested and then transported to juvenile hall.

Location: Elk Grove Blvd / Franklin Blvd
Suspect: KIRBY, KIMBERLY (OFA, 54, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Oregon resident) was contacted as the passenger of a vehicle during a welfare check. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded firearm and a controlled substance. S-1 was arrested, issued a citation, and then released.

Suspect: VANPELT, TERRY (WMA, 45, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) was the driver of reported stolen vehicle. S-1 was arrested and then
transported to the main jail.

Location: 9200 block of Bruceville Rd
Suspect: ALI, MUHAMMAD (OMA, 19, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision. S-1 fled the scene without
exchanging information. S-1 was later located, arrested, issued a citation, and then released.

Location: Blue Maiden Way / Power Inn Rd
Suspect: DUONG, MICHAEL (AMA, 36, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was the driver of a vehicle displaying forward facing red lights, and a police
style light bar on the roof of the vehicle. Officers attempted to stop S-1, who continued driving. S-1
drove to his residence and attempted to park his vehicle in the garage. While S-1 was being detained,
S-1 identified himself as a federal law enforcement officer. Officers were able to confirm S-1 was not a federal law enforcement officer. A consent search of S-1’s residence and vehicle led to the discovery of indicia for impersonating law enforcement. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

 

 

 

Crime Tips Via Text Messaging through “TipSoft”

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
