Location: 8400 block of Elk Grove Blvd
Suspect: JONES, MARSHAUNN (BMA, 23, ARRESTED)
Officers responded to a report of S-1 (Sacramento resident) attempting to burglarize a vehicle. S-1 was
detained, and a record check revealed he had an active warrant out for his arrest. S-1 was arrested
and then transported to the main jail.

S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was in an argument V-1 and V-2, a minor, that escalated when S-1 brandished
a knife. S-1 hit V-1’s phone out of her hand when she tried to call the police. S-1 was arrested, issued
a citation, and then released.

Suspect #3: JUVENILE (BFJ, 17, ARRESTED)
S-1, S-2, and S-3 (Stockton resident) were arrested for shoplifting. A record check revealed S-1 was
on parole. S-1 and S-2 were transported to the main jail. S-3 was transported to juvenile hall.

S-1 (Sacramento resident) forcefully took V-1’s purse and fled in a vehicle driven by S-2 (Sacramento
resident). Officers located the vehicle nearby and S-1 and S-2 were detained. A record check revealed
S-2 was on parole. S-1 and S-2 were both arrested. S-1 was transported to juvenile hall and S-2 was
transported to the main jail.

Suspect: COLEMAN, KEENAN (OMA, 35, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) pushed V-1. V-1 attempted to call the police and S-1 took the phone and
threw it on the ground causing damage. Officers attempted to detain S-1 when S-1 physically resisted,
causing injury to one of the officers. S-1 was detained, and a record check revealed he had an active
warrant out for his arrest. A search incident to arrest of S-1 led to the discovery of a controlled
substance. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Crime Tips Via Text Messaging through “TipSoft”

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
