Location: 4700 block of Laguna Blvd
Suspect #1: BAINS, AMARPREET (OMA, 37, ARRESTED)
Suspect #2: HUNDAL, HARVEER (OMA, 39, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) and S-2 (Fresno resident) drove to V-1’s place of employment, shattered
the windows and doors, and fled the area in S-2’s vehicle. The vehicle was located nearby, and S-1
and S-2 were detained. A record check revealed S-1 violated a restraining order protecting V-1. A
record check revealed S-2 had an active warrant out for his arrest. S-1 and S-2 were both arrested and
then transported to the main jail.

Location: HWY 99 / Sheldon Rd
Suspect: MCDOWELL, CHAD (BMA, 43, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Sacramento resident) threw a large object over the highway overpass hitting V-1’s vehicle. S-1
was detained, and a record check revealed he had active warrants out for his arrest. S-1 was arrested
and then transported to the main jail.

Location: 8900 block of Elk Grove Blvd
Suspect: THOMAS, BRANDON (WMA, 35, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) attempted to steal V-1’s bicycle by cutting the lock with bolt cutters. S-1 was
unsuccessful and fled from the area on foot. S-1 was located nearby and detained. A record check
revealed S-1 was on probation and had active warrants out for his arrest. A probation search of S-1 led
to the discovery of a controlled substance. S-1 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Location: Elk Grove Blvd / Four Winds Dr
Suspect(s): UNKNOWN
S-1, S-2, and S-3 approached V-1 while she was walking her dog and attempted to take her purse.
S-1, S-2, and S-3 were unsuccessful with taking V-1’s purse and took her dog. While taking V-1’s dog,
S-1, S-2, and S-3 struck V-1 several times leaving visible injury. All three suspects fled from the area
in an unknown direction.

Location: 9200 block of Fife Ranch Way
Suspect: TURAY, MOHAMED (BMA, 27, ARRESTED)
S-1 (Elk Grove resident) was arrested for setting V-1’s backpack on fire. A record check revealed S-1
had an active warrant out for his arrest. A search incident to arrest of S-1 led to the discovery of a
controlled substance. S-1 was transported to the main jail.

Suspect #1: KUMAR, ALVIN (OMA, 35, ARRESTED)
Suspect #2: NATH, VISHAL (OMA, 28, ARRESTED)
S-1 (driver) and S-2 (Sacramento resident) were in a vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation. A
record check revealed S-2 was on probation and had an active warrant out for his arrest. A probation
search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a controlled substance. S-1 was arrested, issued a citation,
and then released. S-2 was arrested and then transported to the main jail.

Members of the community having information regarding criminal activity can send tips via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on their cell phones, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message. Once users type in their message and press send, they will receive a confirmation text indicating that the message was received.

“Tipsoft” should not be considered a replacement for contacting the Elk Grove Police Department via telephone (916) 714-5115 (non-emergency), (916) 714-5111 / 911 (emergency) or (916) 691-0411 (anonymous tip line). Instead, “Tipsoft” should be seen as an alternative method of contacting law enforcement to provide information regarding non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, graffiti, theft and narcotics related issues.
