Fly Brave Foundation Thrift Store hit by shoplifters

Elk Grove residents may be familiar with John Almeda and his mom Vanessa Bieker and their non-profit, the Fly Brave Foundation. John has nonverbal autism. Running has changed his life. He recently completed his second Boston Marathon. Here in Elk Grove, the Elk Grove Police Department has partnered with the Fly Brave Foundation for several years with a program that pairs staff from EGPD with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and other disabilities. The foundation recently opened a thrift store in Sacramento at 5901 Broadway, Suite B, Sacramento 95820. The thrift store is used to help raise money to help other individuals with disabilities. Recently the store has been hit by shoplifters. The owner spoke to CBS 13 in the video below. They are asking for volunteers to help monitor the store.
