The final maps have been approved for California’s legislative offices in the State and Congress. Elk Grove stays in the 7th Congressional District, but the boundaries have changed substantially. Elk Grove and southern Sacramento County will be combined with the city of Sacramento. The northern part of Sacramento County will become part of the 6th Congressional District.
Congresswoman Doris Matsui the current 6th district representative, lives in the new 7th district and has announced she will run for the 7th Congressional District that now encompasses Elk Grove. Elk Grove’s current Congressman, Ami Bera, who actually lives in Elk Grove, will now run for the 6th Congressional District. Both Bera and Matsui made their announcements today.
I will run for re-election in '22 in the newly drawn CD07, a district that includes the heart of the Sacramento region, including my home in Land Park, my district office downtown, & the many familiar neighborhood communities that make up Sacramento & the surrounding region. 1/2
