Several businesses were part of a break-in the Fortune Building near the State Capitol. Offices were ransacked with computers, phones, and office equipment taken. Businesses were forced to close bank accounts and take other measures to prevent fraud.
According to one business owner on Twitter, thieves were able to enter the building after security left and disable the camera system.
Apparently the thief broke in right after the daytime security left, at 6:45. Apparently the key FOBs aren’t unique. They then went back to the room on the first floor with the security cameras, disabled them and spent a considerable amount of time going office to office. https://t.co/IbpApYTje7

Privacy PolicyI have been saying for months that downtown is no longer a safe place to be in the evenings – and that it’s especially problematic for businesses.
And here we are, two days before Christmas and I’m headed out to assess the damage in my office. Unbelievable. https://t.co/pehYFQZUBT
