Highway 50 and Interstate 80 remain closed to the Sierra

Highway 50 and Interstate 80 remain closed Monday morning heading to the Sierra. CHP and Cal Trans are asking people to not attempt to travel to the mountains today. They are also warning travelers not to use GPS to get around the closures. Some back roads are not being plowed and drivers are getting stuck and need to be rescued.

CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM 2.8 MI EAST TO 8.3 MI EAST OF PLACERVILLE (EL DORADO CO)
