Elk Grove Police arrested a suspect this morning that at first refused to get out of his car and then led them on a chase from Elk Grove to southbound 99 all the way to the Woodbridge area.
The Elk Grove Police Department posted the following on their Facebook page:
Police activity this morning- Officers attempted to stop a car related to a call for service; however, the man driving the vehicle refused to stop for a short distance until he pulled over in the area of Aspen Brook near Shasta Lily. The man refused to exit the car for some time until he took off, hitting a spike strip in the process, and leading officers on a pursuit. The pursuit ended when the man stopped on the shoulder of Hwy 99 near Woodbridge Road because of two flat tires. Officers were able to take the man into custody after a brief struggle.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Alexander Gonzalez.
