Elk Grove Planning Commission denies potential homeless housing project in old town area

Last night the Elk Grove Planning Commission voted 5-0 to deny the proposed Oak Rose Apartment Complex. City staff had recommended the commission deny the project due to it not meeting the Old Town Special Planning Area guidelines.

Many Elk Grove residents spoke out against the project. There were also those in favor of the project that would help provide housing for the homeless.

The project could now go to the Elk Grove City Council for a final decision.

The link below will allow you to view the applicant’s proposal as well as the community comments and planning commission deliberations.
