Sacramento Unified School District employee arrested after missing Rancho Cordova teen returns home

A Sacramento Unified School District employee was arrested 7 months after a Rancho Cordova teen that had been missing for 21 months returned home. The arrest was made public by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.

SACRAMENTO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH MISSING RANCHO CORDOVA TEEN

On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Rancho Cordova Police Detectives arrested Sacramento City Unified School District employee, Holga Castillo Olivares (61), in connection with a Rancho Cordova teen that was reported missing on June 9, 2020. Olivares is an employee at Alice Birney Waldorf-Inspired K-8 School.

On June 9, 2020, Michael Ramirez (15) was reported missing from his Rancho Cordova home. An extensive search was conducted; however, law enforcement was unable to locate the missing teen. On March 11, 2022—nearly two years after being reported missing—Ramirez inexplicably returned home. After a thorough investigation, Olivares was arrested for the Detention of a Minor with the Intent to Conceal from a Parent(s) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Olivares will appear in Superior Court (Dept. 62) at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022. No additional information is available at this time.
