Elk Grove Police arrested four people early Thursday morning after their vehicle was stopped for a vehicle code violation. That stop led to the discovery of a loaded unregistered handgun, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
The department disclosed the arrests on its Facebook page.
Around 2:45am, Officers stopped a white Cadillac for a vehicle code violation in the area of Promenade Parkway and Grant Line Road. Officers contacted the four occupants of the vehicle: Brian Woodward, Julian Vela, Laura Arciniega, and Orlando Regino. Upon contact, Officers observed a gun in plain view in the front passenger seat pocket. A search of the vehicle resulted in finding a loaded handgun (not registered to any of the occupants), over 3 grams of cocaine and over 15 grams of methamphetamine. Additionally, the occupants of the vehicle had 2 felony warrants and 2 misdemeanor warrants. All occupants were arrested and taken into custody at the Sacramento Main Jail.
