On December 4th, 2022 at approximately 7:41 PM hours Sacramento Communications Center advised California Highway Patrol South Sacramento of a two vehicle crash with an ejected passenger. The driver of a 2016 Ford was traveling on Florin Rd, westbound approaching the intersection with South Watt Avenue at an unknown high rate of speed. The driver of a 2014 Toyota was traveling South Watt Avenue, northbound at a stated speed of 30-40 mph. As the driver of the Toyota entered the intersection on a green light (per a witness) the driver of the Ford ran a red light and stuck the Toyota broadside. The impact caused the driver of the Ford to lose control and the vehicle overturned onto its roof. A passenger which was in the Ford at the time, was unrestrained and ejected into a ditch on the north side of Florin Road were the Ford also came to rest. Fire personnel arrived on scene, began life saving measures and transported the passenger to Kaiser South where he succumbed to his injuries.
