Conquering Cracks and Maintaining Roadways The annual citywide crack sealing operation gets underway next week. Crack sealing is the most common preventive maintenance pavement treatment to fill cracks greater than 1/8”. Crack sealing extends the life of the pavement by up to 7 years and is one of the most cost-effective treatments used to keep a road in good driving condition. Roads won’t be closed for this treatment, but there could be delays. ![]() Did you Receive an Oops Tag from Republic Services? Elk Grove neighborhoods are being visited at random on collection day to evaluate how residents are doing with sorting their trash. This effort is part of a statewide education and enforcement response to organic waste recycling laws. If your cart had items that were incorrectly sorted, you may have received one of these tags. The City of Elk Grove is accepting applications for four City grant programs for programs and activities taking place from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Nonprofit organizations may apply for funding to support a variety of programming ranging from event sponsorship, community service programs that benefit low-income Elk Grove residents, public service activities, housing programs, and public facility improvements.
